About the project
The Vivus Arena project with 155 flats, ateliers and commercial units closed off the inner courtyard encircled by Ocelářská, Kurta Konráda and Drahobejlova streets in the Libeň district of Prague. Three basement floors were built underground, which housed underground garages or cellars. Almost every apartment had a loggia, balcony or spacious terrace. That has become a particularly distinctive feature of the housing on the top floor at the corner of Kurta Konráda and Ocelářská streets. In addition, the terraces not only offered extensive areas for use, but also provided a unique view of the city. The grading of the height of the building from Drahobejlova Street to Ocelářská Street also ensured sufficient privacy.
Location
The unique location in close proximity to the Českomoravská metro station, Galerie Harfa shopping mall and the O2 Arena offered the new residents of the building and individual apartments everything they needed for an active life. At the same time, the Rokytka River is nearby, along which a cycle path leads to the Vltava River, where it branches off towards the city centre, or vice versa to Troja and then out beyond the boundaries of Prague. A populated district such as Libeň undoubtedly is also naturally offers a complex range of civic amenities a few steps away from the building.
Schedule
The contract documentation was signed with the general contractor at the end of 2010. The construction itself began at the beginning of the following year. Rough construction of the project was completed in the 2nd quarter of 2012. The building permit was issued a year later, in May 2013. The transfer of the units to the new owners could then begin.
Demolition of the original building.
Advanced phase of excavation work.
Realization of the ceiling above the 4th above-ground floor.
The final works on the facade of the house are in progress.
Standards
In particular, the architectural design and the use of bright colours on the facade have made the corner of Kurta Konráda and Ocelářská streets a local landmark. Energy performance is also to a high standard; the building received a "B” energy performance certificate, i.e. it was classified as "very economical".
